I spent the weekend in Cape Cod for our version of "Friendsgiving" with ten of our closest. It was the perfect getaway from our typical Brooklyn weekend, although there were plenty of beers, whiskey gingers, and 90's hip hop playlists to go around. All of us stayed away from our phones (except to snap the notorious Falmouth sunset), a great feat for us New York City folk! And, we just played games, laughed so hard we cried, ate a delicious home cooked meal - that left us all in a 24 hour food coma - relaxed by the fire, and did everything that all twenty-somethings making it in NYC dream of - we relaxed, did, drank, and ate whatever we wanted, and were carefree - laptop-less - if only for a weekend. No deadlines, just some fresh air and a whole lot of laughter. Now, we're back in the city, sporting yet another Monday Morning Power Ensemble, to get us through the day, already filled with meetings, a flooded inbox, and one too many shots of espresso.
In staying with my Cape Cod getaway outfits, I wanted keep cozy today in items similar to the ones I packed.
Sometimes a good sweater can make you want to do things like snuggle up in a small cafe somewhere, with a good book and a chai latte, and this Dana Maxx sweater makes me want to do exactly that! Every time I wear it I feel instantly comfortable, so naturally I've been tempted to wear it everyday this Fall! Finding new ways to reinvent it, I went from dark denim skinnies and suede booties over the weekend, to something I can romp around the city in today!
