I've only recently started wearing boyfriend jeans. I always wear things oversized - flannels, coats, sweaters, you name it! - so, I didn't know how to mix in a baggy denim. When trying out new things, I love thinking of all the styling ideas and typically go for dressing outside of my comfort zone.
Slouchy, rolled up denim, the more rips the better - no such thing as being uncomfortable after you eat an entire carb loaded dinner (pasta, anyone?). An alternate - more comfortable - take on your traditional, old reliable skinny blues, boyfriend jeans can be casual enough to run your errands in, but vamped up with dressier separates to wear out to date night!
The denim in question? Rag and Bone Boyfriend Jeans!
1. Weekend Brunches: The idea of brunching on a Saturday, is what we live for all week. Sleeping in, reading the Times with a coffee at home, before heading out to Le Barricou or Beco for mimosas and eggs florentine. Ah, the hectic moments of a 20-something in NYC. With this leisurely weekend-brunch-all-day attitude, the last thing on my mind is "What should I wear?". I just want to wear whatever I'll feel most comfortable in all day. Enter: Boyfriend jeans with a basic boxy tee for measure, and an oversized cardigan to keep cozy in. The coup de gras? Simple boyfriend jeans can be jazzed up with some accessories. Shoes, Bags, and Sunnies always do the trick! I love a simple two-strap just to add a little height (especially for us shorties!), and some oversized shades to cover up the previous nights hangover…Oh! And lastly, a neutral crossbody to keep it all fresh and airy.
2. Museum Dates: Keep your look fresh, and liven up those boyfriend jeans, by pairing them with textures and prints for unexpected edge. A plaid wool coat, to throw over your shoulders and layer under a slinky black Tibi tank, is the perfect go-to for a day at the museum. Chic and casual, but with a punch! Plus, a little gold, a jazzed up Phillip Lim bag, and black ankle booties, are the only additions you'll need.
