Now that Fashion Week has come to an end, it's nice to spend a couple days just bopping around my neighborhood, dressed in some casual and equally comfortable layers, with enough time to grab a coffee and take a stroll.
It's been an entire Summer of me wearing some version of flatform sandals, and I'm admittedly overly excited about the NYC heatwave, because I can still rock out in a pair of lifted sandals or these new ones from Forever21.
If not for flatforms to get by, some sort of a light plaid layer is always OK in my book. I can't stand when people dress inappropriately for the temperature, for the sake of 'fashun'. It's 90 degrees outside, put away your matching wool set! My solution to the weather v. fashionable woes, was to cut off the sleeves of my dinky vintage flannel, and call it day. DIY, has never been my strong suit, but this simple solution is easy enough for me to handle. Turn your old flannels (or even sweatshirts!) into tanks and wear it all year long. Score!
