Post Miami, Pre-NYC-Coldfront

A few weekends ago, we traveled to Miami to visit some fam. And, while it is slightly chilly here in NYC, we had Miami on our minds for a few days after we returned home. We snapped these outfits within the first week of us returning from our little trip to hot (in all senses) MIA and have to say, we're not ready for it to get freezing. Now, admittedly, at this point the weather has completely changed and Erica would opt for an oversized sweater (the fuzzy kind), and Dave would probably just throw on a heavy-knit scarf, the truth is that we wear the same things all year long, so there's that.

Erica: Harley Tank, Thrifted. Leather Skirt, c/o Bebe. Heels, Steve Madden. Sunnies, Gap.

The Everlasting Monday

Since we're working all the time, it's really hard for us (especially lately, since things are really on and poppin') to find the time to get away, leave the iphones at home, and not think about 'running the business'. For us, weekends and 9-5 work days just don't exist.

We work 24/7, 365.

And, for those of you that are also self-employed, we're sure you hear us when we say, that every day can feel like a Monday. But! When we do find the time to play (a la this past weekend), we love to go brunching, stroll around Bedford, coffee in one hand, New York Times in the other. We'll hit our favorite vintage shops all day, catch a happy hour with some friends or have a dinner party at our little abode, and we'll definitely find the time to have Sunday dinner with our family.

Our weekend outfits, consist of little fuss. An easy dress and wedges for Erica (leather bomber jacket somewhere nearby) and simple layers for Dave; trousers and boots are the quintessential protocol here.

Wearing
Erica: Dress, Kensie. 'Clogs', Forever 21. All Accessories, c/o Robert Rose NYC.

Change..

So many exciting things are happening, could this turn out to be one of the best years of our lives?

Anywho, before this turns into a foolishly sentimental diary, let's get to talking about what all the intellectuals are discussing...leather pants and platforms! I (Erica) have decided that it is perfectly acceptable to wear my leather pants as much as I please (which for me, means absolutely all the time). We've been dwelling in a place of total wardrobe transformation lately (same style since 3rd grade, just an upgrade!), and there are certain things that one should never, ever, never-ever let go of. Our list of items that have an immortal timespan in our closets are: leathers, old broken-in tee's (on par with cozy old flannels), sheers, fur layers, anything black, silk, cashmere, or suede, heavy knits, classic blazers, denims, and an excellent pair of lace-up boots.

A Cold Shoulder, Leather, and Chains.

On Clothes: Our friends at Eighteenth, have the most wonderful (comfortably chic) collection! We are seriously obsessed with every last thing they create and can't wait to see what happens next! Check out their store, here! And, lately there's just a certain something about a good pair of leather pants that I can't escape from. Also, Dave spent half his rent on boots, but they've been on his feet all day err'day.

Anyway, in consistency with the New Year and all, we've created a serious set of plans for the next year.  We are doubly excited and terrified, but know that it will all work out (it always seems to, doesn't it?!).  First things first, scouting out a potential move to a small office (woah!), travel (Miami, because we're wholeheartedly in love and the EU), then there's yoga, meditation, and lastly, working, working, working.

PS! Thank you all SO much for alllllll the love on our last post! We're so lucky to have you as readers! And...to answer all the questions about my lipstick! It's Lancome, Rouge Ombre! I wear all Lancome Makeup and I bought the rouge at Macy's!
