Follow Your Bliss

Not much to say here today, except we're feeling really blessed lately and are so excited for not only Christmas in the city and going home for the holiday's, but mostly for all of the exciting things we have upcoming (things that are hush, hush for now, but stay tuned!). We can't believe how crazy and amazing our journey has been, and as of late, we can truly say for the first time in a while, that the future is bright and we're anxious (literal anxiety happening over here!) to see what the next chapter brings. Our quarter-life-crisis is still in full force, but positively speaking... we're ready for what's next, personally and professionally.

In the words of Joseph Campbell, "Follow Your Bliss"

And, our dear friends, that is exactly what we intend to do. Cheers, to living out loud!

Brooklyn, Baby.

It's been nearly five years since we moved to Brooklyn, and we love it more and more everyday. Aside from the standard hectic pace of city life (which, since we're keeping it honest here, can at times be pretty stressful), and the occasional battle of escalating rent woes, we just love Brooklyn to bits.

We can't imagine leaving behind loft apartments and dingy bars, just yet.

Brooklyn, for life.

Post Miami, Pre-NYC-Coldfront

A few weekends ago, we traveled to Miami to visit some fam. And, while it is slightly chilly here in NYC, we had Miami on our minds for a few days after we returned home. We snapped these outfits within the first week of us returning from our little trip to hot (in all senses) MIA and have to say, we're not ready for it to get freezing. Now, admittedly, at this point the weather has completely changed and Erica would opt for an oversized sweater (the fuzzy kind), and Dave would probably just throw on a heavy-knit scarf, the truth is that we wear the same things all year long, so there's that.

It's Not Easy Being Green

It's no secret that we wear black pretty much all the time.

But, it is nice every now and again to throw in some hints of color, and lately we're really loving maroon's, plums, and deep green's. Adding a punch of color to your look, is a quick and easy way to take it up a few fashionable notches. Not sure if we're ready to jet out in an all green ensemble, but here's to keeping things evergreen-changing.

Erica:
Leather Dress, B. Bernardo (Similar Here and Here).

Vintage Tee's

At the core of it all, all we want to do is wear rocker tee's, denim, and leather.

By necessity, we can't exactly roll out in our vintage tie-dye Guns N' Roses T-shirts every single day.. You know, for the times when we're faced with meetings and need to be totally professional (in which case, you better believe that leather is still 100% involved in our ensemble).

But, for the more casual moments, when we feel totally free, this is what we wear.

Oversized Sweaters

Nothing says Fall/Winter, like the perfect oversized knit.

And, if you're anything like we are, you enjoy and respect a good oversized item (flannels, sweaters, vintage rocker tee's, the list goes on and on...). Anywho, there is no way to get around the fact that Fall in NYC has a bitter chill, and that more often than not, it's necessary to stroll around in a city-dwelling, chic version of a snowsuit. We get so layered at times, that we literally can't move our arms properly.

So, our solution until it gets cold as hell, a la last year's snowstorm, is to layer, layer, layer and rely on chunky sweaters (and leathers) to save the day.

**PS. Don't forget to  peep some of our favorite items and check out our updated "Shop" section. Accessories and some Fall/Winter friendly garb for those who feel our pain.

This Goodnight Macaroon Sweater is amazzzzzzing, beyond words. Oversized to perfection.

Eugene is My Middle Name

Cozy weekend-wear is an absolute must.

And, although we're taking a quick trip to Miami for the next few days, we could absolutely never deny just how charming weekends are in Brooklyn. We have a whole lotta love for our neighborhood, and after 4+ years of living in the same apartment, we've come to the realization that brunches at Beco, coffee runs, whiskey's on our fire escape and our "charming 2 bedroom apartment", is in fact what keeps us grounded and at ease.

Brooklyn has been our anchor throughout lots of exhilarating transitions and those undeniable/inescapable early-twentie's growing pains.

Who knows where the road will lead, but for now, we're two happy peas in a BK pod - strolling around Lorimer in broken-in-denim (the kind that only gets better with time and doesn't ever fade!), fuzzy sweaters and seriously old t-shirts.

Video: Oh, you Nasty Gal.. Nasty.

An ode to the single item we love the very most: Our leather jackets. But mostly, to my new Nasty Gal moto jacket that I wear every single fucking day. Yes, we dropped the F bomb.

For us, leather bombers mean everything, because we've road tripped in them, took some wrong turns (analytically speaking), spent many a night wandering around Brooklyn and stumbling in at 4am, and have certainly thrown them over our cold shoulders when the realization set's in that it just isn't summer anymore. We've most definitely almost left them in a taxi or two and would be lying if we said we didn't try and wear them literally all year long (leather in the summer? We tried it). When you find something amazing, it becomes your staple.

And leathers, are ours.

Sunny Came Home

Any season that let's us rely on simple layers, is an instant favorite. So, dear Fall in New York City, we love you.

Fur vests (Erica) and just a blazer (Dave), it just doesn't get much better than that. No fuss. Low maintenance. We're all about it. And, as the cold front comes in, we are so not looking forward to having to search for the perfect winter coats. We mean, it's nearly impossible to look super fab in a floor length, shall we say it? North Face.

Erica: Blouse, H&M. Shorts, Mink Pink. Boots, c/o ShoeMint. Scarf, H&M. Accessories, c/o Robert Rose.

Always True

I want to live and die in leather and silk.
And Dave, his classic ensemble of checks, Ray-ban's, and black boots is just what makes him ever-so-handsome.
Never overlook the power of wearing an outfit that you feel comfortable (like your very best self) in. Look great, feel great.. that sort of thing.

There's nothing more to it.
