Leather v. Capes

It's getting really chilly in the city, and I'm searching for new additions to our closets - insert capes, caplets, and anything 'witchy'.

I spent the weekend upstate, apple picking, doing a little thrifting, but mostly sitting by the fire, catching up on some light reading and sipping on homemade hot cider cocktails - delish! It's really nice to get out of the city every now and again.. Don't get me wrong, we love New York and couldn't imagine ever really leaving, but weekend getaways have been our refuge since we moved here. Sometimes, all you need is to take the train out of the city, to soak in some peace and quite, recharge, and realize that all your missing in your life is a new leather jacket and/or a black cape. See below.

As children, I was completely obsessed with the movie Practical Magic. And, I may or may not have spent a number of years dressing up as witches for Halloween. And, there were the years of dressing in strictly all black. Moral: Sometimes, it's as simple as pulling from fun or random things that inspire you and letting them influence your personal style. Your style is supposed to be a direct reflection of you, and if you're feeling a little witchy one day and want to live and die in all black and leather - do You. Capital Y.
I'm totally guilty of being creatures of habit. And, as with our affinity for all-black-witchy-wardrobes, we've stuck with leather jackets since we can remember.
Check out some of my favorite moto jackets and capes below!
