Plaids and Pleats

Ah, the growing obsession with all things Clueless and Cher Horowitz. While mixing longer layers and cropped knits with pleated mini skirts and thigh-high socks, is barely an invention (we all know who did it best…), playing around with textures and prints helps to keep things fresh.

I love oversized anything, but oversized flannels have always been particularly my go-to. And, when just throwing on a pair of ripped skinnies or leather pants with my oversized plaids and checks doesn't seem appealing for a day, I pair them with pleated mini's or side-slit maxi's. Layer it under a chunky sweater, wrap it around your waist, or match it with a leather moto jacket - plaids, checks, and oversized flannels are another layering lifesaver.
