Capelets and Suiting

These are pretty much all of our favorite Fall looks, rolled into one.
A cape and leather pants for Erica, and anything that involves a suit jacket for Davie!
Capelets have become an essential, Fall/Winter staple in my closet, because they can be either subtle and sweet, or dark, dramatic, and mysterious. The mystifying stylish qualities of capes, are endless, and let's just face it; there's nothing fiercer than coat-checking a black fur capelet. Capes provide a certain ethereality, especially when paired with leather pants and turtlenecks at night, or ripped denim and light cashmere sweaters during the day. Admittedly, capes can also be intimidating and seem impractical for a typical Tuesday romp of grocery shopping, carpool, and commuting. But, these perceptions become outlawed - fashionably speaking, of course - with the debut of sportier, more tailored, and more wearable options. Check out 1 Cape, 6 Ways here!
According to GQ's Guide to Suits, the suit, is a wardrobe cornerstone. And, that is nothing to play with. A good suit (ladies, we're talking to you too!), is only the best investment you can make, because the styling opportunities are endless, and surely, because already having a suit to wear at the most unexpected moment, is - for lack of a better phrase - a lifesaver. Categorically, things to be considered are cut, cloth, variety, et al. The modern shopper has to be concerned with not only all of the above, but with how many ways one item can be worn, re-worn, and worn again. So, when it comes to suiting, a sensible splurge is OK.
What We're Wearing:
Erica: Rachel Pally Turtleneck, Dana Maxx Fur Cape, H&M Leather Pants, Steve Madden Heels.
Davie: GUESS T-Shirt, Original Penguin Suit (top and bottom here), Aldo Shoes.
