Even though the view from my snowy Brooklyn fire escape begs to differ, this weekend was warm with a hint of Spring in the near future. AKA, people were actually outdoor brunching; drinking mimosas, and wearing sweaters only. It was a taste of Spring, a moment of freedom to almost wear whatever you want, not worry about lugging a heavy wool coat around, and more importantly, be able to ditch the hats and gloves without any concern of getting frostbite (this actually became a concern for New Yorker's - freaking frostbite).
A few snapshots from the weekend, somewhere in between brunching, bagels, iced coffee's, reading the paper in McCarren Park, strolling to Greenpoint to hit some thrift stores, and watching the Super Bowl.
Leisurely weekends, call for cozy sweaters and hats. It's fun when I can wear a skirt or something I would ordinarily wear during the "work week", on the weekends, just by swapping a sheer layer for an oversized sweater or heels for a pair of comfy cut-out booties. Throw on a hat and a my new favorite Kenneth Cole cross-body and I'm more than ready to take on my Williamsburg weekend.
