Some items you just want to keep and wear forever. For us, this means; most of these items are black, very downtown (whatever that suggests) and we've more than likely worn some version of it since childhood. So, yes, Dave's worn vests since he was at least three years old and he probably owns nothing but black, or leather, or black leather vests. And, for Erica? What else besides a cozy (and backless), all black ensemble.
Building an entire wardrobe takes time, and it's not exactly easy. Figuring out what key pieces to splurge or save on, understanding fit (in both the physical and figurative sense), and editing out what can't be reinvented, is challenging. So, as we've learned, it's just best to stick to what you know and wear or invest in whatever makes you feel good. And, it doesn't hurt to stick to the classics; invest in items that are transeasonal (layer, layer, layer), and ones you can see yourself wearing throughout the years.
